Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust required a robust, flexible audio visual solution to support a wide range of clinical and educational activities across their estate.
The brief focused on equipping MDT (Multi‑Disciplinary Team) rooms, Microsoft Teams meeting spaces, and simulation training suites with technology that would enable clear communication, seamless collaboration, and reliable performance in mission‑critical healthcare environments.
The systems needed to be intuitive for busy clinical staff, fully compatible with Microsoft Teams, and scalable to accommodate rooms that could be reconfigured or partitioned as requirements evolved.

Our Solution
We delivered a series of integrated AV solutions tailored to the specific needs of each space, combining commercial‑grade display technology with professional control, audio, and video systems to ensure consistency and ease of use throughout.
At the visual core of the installations are LG commercial 4K displays, selected for their excellent image quality, reliability, and suitability for extended daily use in clinical environments. These displays provide crisp, detailed visuals for medical imaging reviews, presentations, and collaborative discussions.
To manage content routing and system flexibility, Extron matrix switchers and scaling were deployed, allowing multiple sources to be shared effortlessly across displays, whether in single rooms or across partitioned spaces. This ensured smooth transitions between presentations, live video feeds, and remote participants.
For video collaboration, Avonic PTZ cameras were installed to deliver high‑quality, controllable camera views for Teams meetings and remote MDT participants. These were paired with Poly, Logitech, and Yealink Microsoft Teams Room systems, providing a consistent, familiar user experience that integrates seamlessly with the Trust’s collaboration platform.
Audio clarity was a key priority, particularly in larger MDT and training spaces that can be divided into smaller rooms. Biamp ceiling microphones were specified to deliver clear, intelligible speech capture, automatically adapting to room layouts and ensuring effective communication for both in‑room and remote participants.
All systems were brought together using Extron control systems, offering simple, reliable control via intuitive interfaces. This enables clinicians and educators to start meetings, switch sources, and manage room configurations quickly, without the need for technical support.
